Washburn EA40 Jumbo Size Electro shallow body

The EA range from Washburn are larger bodied Japanese acoustics. This particular one is an EA40, an electro in a Tobacco Sunburst finish with a Florentine cutaway.  It has a solid Spruce top, with Birdseye Maple back and sides, and a maple neck with Rosewood board. The sound is punchy and spanky, with not quite as much low end as you'd typically get from a Jumbo size, owing to the shallow body, which also reduces the weight from what you'd expect of a guitar in this shape! 

The Equis II Preamp dates this to being made in at least 1990. Washburn did many different variations of the EA range, with different finishes, inlays and accoutrements. Perhaps most famously, an EA44 model was used by Prince, which isn't a million miles away from this one in spec!
