Rapier Rocket - Metallic Silver

Well I never thought I would see this designed re-issued, but here it is! As a teenager I was glued to Top of the Pops, watching Marc Bolan and Dave Hill strut around with a guitar that looked to be a cross between Concorde and a space ship, back then it was of course the Burns Flyte.
Fast forward 55 years and here it is, a reborn version under the Rapier brand name. While this is not 100% accurate to the 70s Burns as far as the tremolo and pickups go, it is pretty darn close!

So if you fancy something a bit different and uber cool, this fits the bill at a very sensible price indeed!

Designed by the legendary UK guitar builder and hardware specialist Alan Entwistle, the new Rapier Rocket is based on original 60s iconic brands that played a major role in the industry of British built guitars and basses from the 1960s.

With its distinctive symmetrical, swept-wing okoume body, neck and angled headstock, all finished in a striking metallic silver, offset with a single ply black scratchplate and chrome hardware, the Rapier Rocket looks unquestionably cool.

Straight string-pull from the Wilkinson E-Z lok machine heads to the Entwistle designed Hi-Lo Resonance long-plate vibrato system, via a precision cut Graphtech nut and roller bridge, ensures accurate return to pitch, stable tuning and pinpoint intonation over the Canadian rock maple neck with double action truss rod and 22 fret, bound rosewood fingerboard.

With a low DCR output of 5K ohms, the Entwistle FireStar pickups are more open sounding with a massive dynamic range, whilst heavy gauge winding wire and powered by a single Neodymium Rare Earth magnet, they’re extra hot, whilst also highlighting Entwistle’s extraordinary talent for guitar wiring.
