Partscaster - Fender Stratocaster style - Great spec!
Partscaster - Fender Stratocaster style - Great spec!
Over the years we have seen many different parts builds, some quite shockingly bad, others mediocre and then ones like this that have had time and money spent on them.
Breaking this one down here are its vital statistics - It sports a set of Canadian made Tone emporium, Big City '69 Blues pickups, it has a full CTS/CRL waxed cloth wire loom, orange drop large caps, Wilkinson high mass block tremolo system, closed button tuners. The body is a candy cola metallic finish and the neck maple with maple board with an adjustable brass saddle system. The frets are very good condition with no play wear in evidence at all.
It has had a Fender decal and neck plate fitted, but just to be 100% transparent, this not made by Fender, none of the parts are from Fender (OK maybe the neck plate!)
It has gone through the Badlands work bench and is set up with 10s. The tonal range is very nice a similar to a USA vintage pickup set, not thin and cutting like some Squiers.
A conservative estimate is that this would have cost £450 for the parts, plus build time to make. It holds a very nice low action, bends without choking and would made a great stage/working guitar.
