Now it has to be said, I love a Murphy Lab aged 57 gold top, the build quality, the individual component parts, the attention to detail in the finishing and the personal work that makes each one unique...however I am not a huge fan of the £5,999 price tag attached.
Now Maybach guitars in the Czech Republic have adopted all the same principles, the same quality of materials and parts, every one hand made and finished individually and the result is at least equal to a Murphy Lab version, yes everything is to the same standard or beyond, apart from one small detail...you guessed it, that pesky price tag!
So imagine getting close to 60% taken off the price without losing any of the quality or playability.....welcome to Maybach!
As you can see this is an aged gold top, '57, with authentic 50's neck, what I call a proper neck, something that fills the hand making fretting easier. The relic work includes nibbles on the edge of the nitro and checking across the finish. These just look like a 60+ year old classic, and sound like one. too!
