This is the ultimate "get the job done" guitar, so simple and stripped back and yet a true force to be reckoned with. The Junior has one mighty powerful Cream "Duke" T P90 pickup, which with adjustments on the volume and tone can produce a very surprisingly wide tonal range from jazzy to snarling punk, stopping at all stations in between.
This one is very light indeed at a shade under 6lb in weight, it is well balanced and as expected from Maybach, is a players dream, with great attention to finishing. Simply put this is a killer instrument and hand on heart, I would put it on a par with anything USA made from a custom shop if not a tad better.
First introduced in 1961 and established until 1965, this solid body electric guitar has become an integral part of the guitar landscape. Originally conceived in the spirit of the LP Junior as a re-contouring of the weakening LP style on the market, the SG style solid body guitar was ahead of the design language of its time.
