Hofner 500/1 '62 Violin bass - German made with flight case.

Not many of these crop up on the market so I feel this will not be here too long. The '63 violin bass is the stuff of legend and remains a popular bass today, not just through the Beatles connection but they really are a unique, lightweight instrument that delivers a massive punchy tonal range.
Last year Hofner filed for bankruptcy and were eventually bought by Thomann. This one date from 2003 and comes with a fitted flight case included.
It is in excellent condition, fully working and set up. The metalwork shown tarnish as expected after 20+ years. There are no issues with electrics or frets, it is a lovely genuine old Hofner.
There are currently a few variations of this era violin bass available new ranging from £2,500 to £3,200, so this is an outstanding opportunity to grab a "goodun" while you can!
