Is there a more evocative guitar than the Gretsch White Falcon? This is a rather fab 2005 model from Japan.
A showpiece guitar, the White Falcon turned so many heads at the 1954 summer NAMM that it was rushed into production the following year. As with most models, it underwent a few changes with the double cutaway design being introduced in 1962.
This guitar is in great condition. The body has escaped any real damage or modification. The binding is in great shape too, no longer quite as problematic as in the past.
There is some wear evident to the gold plate on the edge of the pickup and bridge, where your hand sits to play.
The fretboard is also in superb shape as are the frets, electronics are in good shape and have remained untouched.
The guitar comes with its correct hardshell case which is also in great shape and all intact and working
The unplugged sound has a clear tone that really translates plugged in. Both pickups sound so wonderful, classic Gretsch and the array of switches add to the tonal palette. The springiness of the Bigsby is also so pleasing.
If you're on the lookout for a great looking vintage Gretsch this could well be the winner!
