The humble SG still represents some of the best value for money when it comes to pro level USA Gibsons, they have everything going for them, the same humbucker sound as a Les Paul, all mahogany body and neck, the best ever access to the dusty end of the fretboard and not being heavy either….come on be honest what do you want?
OK, independent volume and tone controls..you get that too. So this one is a fabulous 2011 SG standard with bound neck. The colour is a very deep wine red, nicely worn over the body, a subtle roadwork example.
We have set this one up and replaced the PCB with all USA spec electrics, so it is everything you would expect. From the look of it there was most likely a sticker removed behind the bridge and the polishing has caused the thinning of the finish, I have to say it looks pretty darn cool!
All hardware, frets, electrics, fingerboard and set up are great! It is a real joy to play and has a great easy action.
