Back in December last year we took in this 1967 Melody Maker SG which was in a bit a sad way so we made a call to do a sympathetic restoration job, the yacht varnish that had previously been applied with a hedgehog was removed, it was stripped back, left open grain and had a nitro Pelham blue refinish. 
The body, neck, frets, wiring loom and pickups are original. The pickups were serviced by Kent Armstrong. We have had to buy replacement bridge, pickguard (original is included but switch hole enlarged) switch, tremolo and tuners.
Due to the layout of the short lyre tremolo and wrap over bridge it can be strung as we have it, on the tremolo, or as a hardtail. Many old examples have had the tremolo removed.
It has been set up now and plays fine, especially for a 59 year old guitar.
