Fender Modern Player Short Scale Jazz Bass

They say that good things come in small packages, and here's a prime example!

You may at first glance think this looks like a normal Jazz Bass, but no! This is a Fender Modern Player Short Scale Jazz Bass. Yep, that's right, short scale! Fender took the iconic Jazz Bass shape, and shrunk it down to a 30" scale, 18 fret bass. In another departure from traditional Jazz Bass design, this has a PJ pickup configuration, instead of the typical double J pickups. It also has a great HiMass bridge - a lot more solid than your typical vintage style barrel saddle bridge.

Long before the Indonesian Standard Series took the F brand to the far east, Fender were manufacturing the Modern Player series in China, and making some pretty cool and unusual designs there. If you love the look of a Jazz Bass, but find them a bit too big for you, then this could be the perfect bass for you!

We've given it a good setup and clean up, but it's definitely been played! There's some rust to the pickup poles, and various knocks and dents. See pics for more detail. You don't see many of this model, so don't count on coming across another one any time soon.
