The original Marshall amp - the JTM45 - was Jim Marshall's take on the Fender Bassman, with a few tweaks. With the Bassbreaker series, Fender nod to that lineage, by combining the names of the Bassman and Bluebreaker (the name of the Marshall JTM combo, as used by Clapton on the John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers album), into the Bassbreaker 45 - a 45w all valve, 2x12 combo.
The circuit is based on a classic 59 Bassman, but with some modern features like variable output wattage from 1w to 45w, for getting tones at any volume from bedroom to stage; and 3 input jacks, allowing you to use the normal or bright channels, or bridging the two without the need for a jumper cable like the original amps did.
This is a weighty beast, but makes up for it in tone. It sounds massive, and works great as anything from a rich, clean pedal platform, to driving 60s/70s rock/blues Overdrive tones. This is a serious amp with serious tone
