This "vintage" Mexican model was a premium instrument at the time, and to be fair, the quality overall was higher back in the 90's than today.
So as a result this powerhouse Strat feels and plays like a good USA model with an extra trick up its sleeve, the active boost, this is a battery powered active circuit run to the back tone pot. 
You have master volume, master tone 9all 3 pickups) and the boost, that you can roll in as needed.
On top of this a fabulous set of "lock n cut" D'addario tuners have been fitted.
The original plate would have been "mother of toilet seat", but has been swapped out, quite wisely for a torty one.
