I know this guitar very well as it belonged to an ex employee and friend of mine.
This started life as a late 70s Cimar Strat, made in Japan. Cimar were a Hoshino Gakki produced instrument, and were associated with the early Ibanez models.
Google AI offers up the information that these were the "budget brand" from Ibanez...well thanks Google, but get on back to school with you! These are a great guitar and accurate Strat copy. The neck was literally worn out, and was replaced with a Japanese Fender 1983 JV neck/ The decal looks very suspicious as you can see, but it is 100% original and has discoloured from a smoky environment.
The neck is pencil dated as shown.
All in all this is a stunning guitar with real vintage mojo and plays well. It has lots of play marks, classic real relicing!
