This is one seriously impressive bass. If you are on a certain age you will recognise this design as these were a highly sought after instrument back in the late 70s/ early 80s when they were made in Japan. While you might still find a vintage one it will put a serious dent in your bank balance.
This modern reissue is pretty darn close to the original, a solid ash body with a maple/ply through neck, a might powerful deep voiced humbucker that has the ability to be played in series or parallel opening up the tonal range.
When you play this one you know it is a "real" bass, very solid and likely to survive a nuclear attack!
This is a "B" stock bass and has a flaw that we see quite a lot from shipping. There is a lacquer sawtooth line running each side of the nut, this is caused by the fret board and neck moving. To be very clear, this is not a neck break or split, it is in the lacquer only and is cosmetic. It is dead smooth and cannot be felt when playing.
However as a result there is a massive saving to be had here and a nice deal for a pro level bass.
