The slope shoulder was changed in 1970 to this more square shoulder dreadnought, and the knob position was also altered around 1971.\u003cbr\u003eThis one is very original, apart from the bridge pins which are wooden replacements. \u003cbr\u003eImportantly there are no breaks or cracks on this one, the neck join to body is perfect and there are no signs of stress fractures at the headstock, and no refinishing either.\u003cbr\u003eObviously it has a few scuffs \u0026amp; dings from 50 plus years of use, but nothing major whatsoever.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe P90 pickup is fully working as are the volume and tone pots. The amplified sound is the reason the J-160E was made by Gibson, a robust acoustic with a perfect flat amplified tone.\u003cbr\u003eThe frets are exactly are you would expect for this era, low and flat and it plays very well indeed. It is currently sitting at 2.5mm at the low E 12th fret with room to lower this from the saddle if you are a fast player needing a lower action.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis one came with a generic period \"hard\" case.
