We've had some rather wonderful Tele's come through the Badlands doors recently, and this 1998 American Standard is no exception!
Finished in a rather fetching 'Aqua Marine metallic' (appropriate for our coastal location!): it features an Alder body, Modern C neck profile maple neck and 9.5" radius rosewood fretboard, and a 6-saddle modern style chrome bridge, so you can really dial in the intonation.
The sound is classic Tele twang - bright and characterful, with the inclusion of a no-load tone pot unleashing more of the high-end and output of the pickups.
This really is a fantastic example of everything that makes the Telecaster great: a no bull, straight up workhorse of a guitar. It plays very well! I've set it up with an action a hair below 2mm, but if you didn't mind a bit of smack against the high frets, you may be able to have it down a little lower.
It doesn't really get a whole lot better for a classic, no-nonsense Tele!
